"Drawing" with Linda Weil

(Thursday 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm)

Class Aim:

Good drawing is the fundamental basis for almost all forms of art as well as being a heck of a lot of fun. With paper and pencil you can travel the world! Our Thursday night group use drawing as an art form in itself rather than as a preliminary study for oil or watercolor. Students vary from the novice wanting to learn drawing techniques, to advanced artists requiring guidance and mentoring. We explore different styles and techniques with all drawing mediums including (but not limited to), pencil, pastel, charcoal and ink. The class regularly studies fundamentals and new projects together each term, and each artist also create their own original work with the goal of finishing 2 or 3 exhibition quality pieces in class during the year. Although Linda specializes in Wildlife and Nature drawing, the student’s drawings will cover a broad sweep of technique, imagination and subject matter. Linda works individually with each artist to best achieve their vision. Our goal is have fun, enjoy the journey, each other, and the fine art of drawing.

“Drawing is the basis of art. A bad painter cannot draw. But one who draws well can always paint.” Arshile Gorky
